Privacy Policy

The short version

College Connect is a student-created app. We collect only what's needed to run campus bookings, we never sell your information, and everything in the app is members-only — signed-out visitors can't see profiles, reviews or portfolios. College Connect is an independent, student-created app. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any college or university. School names are used descriptively only.

What we collect

• Your school email (used to verify you attend a college) and login credentials.
• Profile info you enter: name, school, grade or grad year, pronouns, housing, account type, services and photos.
• Optional care details: allergies, hair texture and whether you have sensitive skin.
• Activity in the app: bookings, messages and attachments, reviews, favorites and reports.

Who can see what

• Provider pages (services, prices, reviews, portfolio) are visible to signed-in members once you publish. Unpublished work is only visible to you.
• Student profiles are visible to signed-in members at your own school, plus anyone you've booked or messaged.
• Care details are the most protected. A provider can see them once you have a real booking or message thread with them. Otherwise they're hidden from classmates unless you turn "hide from clients" off.
• Reports are visible only to the app owner. The person you report is never told who reported them.

How your data is stored

Data lives in a managed, encrypted database with access rules enforced per account, so the app can only return rows you're allowed to see. Message photos are stored privately and shown through short-lived links.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your data, don't run advertising trackers, and don't share your information with your school. We don't process payments, so we never hold card details.

Your choices

You can edit or clear your profile and care details at any time, toggle whether classmates see your care details, change your school and school email if you transfer, and delete your account from your profile — which removes your profile, bookings and messages.
